![]() It have been 4 days since the album release, so my very positive view of it is in no way final, just some first impressions. New York, NY Drake may be too big to respond to Joe Budden and his incessant dissing but you had best believe this is a calculated war for Mouse. Well, now it’s an all out war between Drake and Meek, Meek and Drake. That makes it especially cool that he decided to put on Icis ( Tell Em Pay) and Kash Doll ( Huddle Wit Bosses), two women killing it here. Drakes been bloodthirsty over the past year and has left bodies, most notably Meek Mill’s, in his wake. The way he chooses features on these albums always feel like he's choosing which colleagues he lets shine. His current run even inspired enough former Doughboyz Cashout members to get back together for a song to credit the full group ( Sicilian). Having another feature from the late Blade Icewood, getting his daughter to speak some interludes and songs like Ground Up are proof enough to reaffirm his status as an elder statesman of the game. It's mostly prouced by himself, which means it's faster paced than his collab albums with Cardo or Peezy, but that's something I've been looking forward to since I was introduced to him through one of those via a self-produced songs. Payroll quietly dropped another addition to his great catalgoue last week. ![]()
